History of Havoline
1960

1960's: In 1962, the Texaco trademark replaced the Indian red, white and blue ball in a totally redesigned Havoline logo on all lubricant cans. During the decade of the 1960s, Texaco made three advances in motor oil technology. Introduced in 1962, Havoline® All Temperature 10W-30 and New Havoline® single grade offered exclusive detergent dispersant additives to protect against sludge build-up, wear, and piston deposits. Improved Havoline® Motor Oil, which premiered in 1968, reduced the formation of crankcase deposits and helped keep crankcase ventilation emission control systems functioning properly. A year later, New Havoline® All Temperature 10W-40 provided excellent engine protection in both stop-and-go and high-speed driving, exceeded new car warranty requirements, and more than met the exacting demands of ASTM engine sequence tests.
