  • 2005 marks McMurray's third season behind the wheel of the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series.
  • 2004 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season saw McMurray post nine top-five and 23 top-10 finishes en route to finishing 11th in points and picking up a $1 million bonus.
  • Scored three NASCAR Busch Series victories with three different teams during the 2004 season. Tied a NASCAR record by winning his fourth consecutive Busch Series victory at North Carolina Speedway.
  • Named 2003 NASCAR Raybestos Winston Cup Rookie of the Year.
  • Competed in all 36 NASCAR Winston Cup races during 2003, scoring five top-five and 13 top-10 finishes, along with one Bud Pole Award. McMurray finished 13th in the final 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series point standings.
  • Competed in 19 NASCAR Busch Series races during 2003 season, posting two wins, six top-five and nine top-10 finishes.
  • In six Winston Cup starts in 2002, he posted one victory, one top-five, two top-10 and three top-15 finishes.
  • Turned heads as he scored his first NASCAR Winston Cup victory in only his second start on October 13, 2002 in the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.
  • Set a new NASCAR modern-era record by becoming the quickest driver to win a Winston Cup race.
  • Received the opportunity to earn his rookie stripes early as he was picked to fill-in for the injured Sterling Marlin in the No. 40 Dodge for Chip Ganassi Racing in the final six events of the 2002 Winston Cup season.
  • September 2002- Named driver of the Havoline Dodge for Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates in the 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup Series.
  • 2002 was a breakout year for McMurray in the NASCAR Busch Series. He scored two victories (Atlanta and Rockingham), six top-five and 14 top-10 finishes and finished sixth in the final Busch Series point standings.
  • Competed in all 33 NASCAR Busch Series events in 2001, posting three top-10 finishes. The Joplin, Mo. native finished third in the Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year standings and finished 16th in the overall Busch Series point standings.
  • Made his NASCAR Busch Series debut on October 29, 2000 at the Memphis Motorsports Park. He also competed in the Busch Series race at Phoenix International Raceway on November 4.
  • In October 2000, McMurray was named to drive the No. 27 Williams TravelCenters machine for Brewco Motorsports in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division in 2001.
  • Competed in 15 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in 2000. He won Bud Pole Awards at the Michigan Speedway and Nashville Speedway USA. He posted one top-five and three top-10 finishes. His best finish was a third-place at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
  • On May 22, 1999, he made his Craftsman Truck Series debut at I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo.
  • Competed on the RE/MAX Challenge Series and five NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in 1999.
  • Competed on the ARTCO and NASCAR RE/MAX Challenge Series in 1998.
  • Track Champion at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Mo. in 1997. Defeated former NASCAR Winston Racing Series Champion Larry Phillips for the title.
  • Started driving NASCAR late models in 1992.
  • Won World Go-Karting Championship in 1991.
  • Won four United States Go-Kart titles between 1986 and 1992.
  • Raced go-karts nationally and internationally from ages 8-17.
